Home Sleep Apnea Testing in Baltimore, MD
What Is Home Sleep Testing?
A home sleep test (HST) is used to diagnose obstructive sleep apnea and is appropriate for otherwise healthy adults with a high risk of obstructive sleep apnea. HSTs are not suitable for:
- Patients with significant medical disorders such as heart and lung disease
- Patients with cognitive impairment
- Patients with symptoms suggesting sleep disorders other than obstructive sleep apnea
Testing Process
A unit can be picked up from any of our locations or mailed to your home. Instructions are provided regarding the testing process and setup.
Once the device is returned, the data is downloaded and a registered sleep technologist will score the sleep study within 48 hours and send it to one of our board-certified sleep medicine specialists. Our Physician Sleep Specialist will review your study and our office will provide your referring physician with a report.
As clinically indicated, you may need a facility-based study or may be setup up with PAP therapy at home.
