Pulmonologist in Baltimore, MD

Dr. Phillip Buescher is a board-certified pulmonary and critical care doctor. His outpatient practice is located at the Towson office.

Dr. Buescher brings more than 30 years of experience as a clinician and educator. He has served as the director of the medical/surgical intensive care units at Union Memorial Hospital since 1987. Currently he is the director of both the MedStar Union Memorial and MedStar Good Samaritan hospital medical and surgical ICU’s. Since 1994 he has assisted in the management of cardiac surgery patients at Union Memorial Hospital.  Additionally, he rotates with the fulltime faculty covering various critical care and specialized pulmonary services at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Buescher has been recognized as one of Baltimore magazine’s Top Doctors for pulmonary medicine nine times. He was the first part time faculty member to be honored by the Hopkins Medical School teaching award.  He has also received recognition in teaching by the Osler medical service as well as the residency program at Union Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Buescher lives in Canton with his wife, Karen.  He has three grown children. Dr. Buescher enjoys boating in the summer and skiing in the winter.
