Peter Sloane, M.D.

Dr. Peter Sloane specializes in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Prior to entering practice in 1991, he had participated in research in the acute respiratory distress syndrome; this research continued over the years as a site investigator in the National Institute of Health’s ARDS Network. He also has a special interest in the application of information technology to enhance patient care.

Dr. Sloane was a prior managing partner and past president of PCCAB. He is currently Chief of Pulmonary Medicine, Director of Respiratory Care and Associate Director of Critical Care at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and serves as Acting Chief of Pulmonary Medicine at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital.  He is on the teaching faculty of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine, and the University of Maryland School of Nursing.

Dr. Sloane has garnered seven Top Doctor recognitions from Baltimore magazine and two Golden Apple Teaching Awards from MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. He was elected a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians. Prior to joining PCCAB, Dr. Sloane was the Ward Melville Valedictorian of the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a National Institute of Health National Research Service Award recipient.

Dr. Sloane and his wife, Amy, live in Owings Mills, Maryland. He has two sons who reside in the Washington DC area and one daughter in Sydney, Australia. He is currently seeing outpatients with pulmonary and sleep disorders in PCCAB’s Towson office. Appointments with Dr. Sloane may be scheduled by calling 410-494-1662.
